Hello and welcome to my blog! I’m Sam, a 19 year old editor and blogger from Australia.
I started this blog officially in August 2017 as a way to showcase my love for Harry Potter and everything that comes along with it. A few years earlier, in 2014, I decided to make an Instagram account dedicated to the very same series and @potterscenes was born. Originally, this blog started out as a book blog, and then developed into what it is now – a place to put down my thoughts, talk about Harry Potter, things I love and a variety of other fandom things. It also acts as a companion to my second Instagram account, started in September 2017 – @hogwartstohobbiton.
Now, a little bit about me, the blogger. I’m Sam, short for Samantha (but please don’t call me that) and I’m nineteen years old. For a few years between 2012 and 2016, I was a complete Hufflepuff, but after a series of events, I’m happy to now call myself a very proud Gryffindor. If I was at Ilvermorny, I’d be a Thunderbird.
I’ve been a fan of Harry Potter since 2007 when I was eight years old and it completely took over my life, and I started collecting merchandise around then too. I’m also in a plethora of other fandoms, the most prevalent being The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, Fantastic Beasts, Kingsman and Marvel. I love reading and watching films, as well as writing and filming little bits and pieces myself.
My favourite characters in the above fandoms are Remus Lupin, Aragorn, Thorin Oakenshield, Paul ‘Jesus’ Rovia, Nick Clark, Tina Goldstein, Agent Whiskey, Scott Lang and Bucky Barnes. I also love rainy days, autumn, showing off my love for the fandoms I’m in through the clothes I wear, good food (and pavlova on Christmas) and collecting merchandise with money that I probably should be spending on other things.
I’m slowly collecting a variety of films on blu-ray that I adore with all my heart and trying to find the time to watch them all. And when I do get around to watching them, I post about them on my Instagram account @thisyearinfilm. I also love the cinema more than anything and would totally see my favourite movies there a million times if I could.

I post every Wednesday at 6:00pm AEST, though sometimes I’ll also post on other days if I have something else to talk about that isn’t the regular weekly post! But you can always count on new content being posted on a Wednesday evening!

FAQ:
What camera do you use for your photos?
If I’m taking photos, I either use my iPhone 8 Plus or the Panasonic Lumix Camera. If I haven’t taken the photo, it’s most likely from Google or a Movie Screencap Gallery!
Where do you buy your Harry Potter books?
In store, I usually buy Harry Potter books (the novels) from Australian stores like Big-W or Kmart. If I buy things online, I usually buy from BookDepository! I’ve also bought books from online websites like Zing Pop Culture before, too.
When do you post?
I post on Wednesdays at 6pm AEST!
